Washington, D.C.—Today, U.S. Representative Lloyd Doggett (D-TX), Chair of the House Ways & Means Health Subcommittee, U.S. Representative Fred Upton (R-MI), former Chair of the House Energy & Commerce Committee, and U.S. Representative Mike Kelly (R-PA), Ranking Member of the House Ways & Means Oversight Subcommittee, announced the introduction of important legislation to provide much-needed updates and improvements to the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP). Established in 1986, the VICP provides a no-fault alternative to the traditional legal system through which consumers can be compensated for very rare vaccine-related injuries. The VICP provides necessary protections and certainty for patients, vaccine administrators, and vaccine manufacturers alike, but has not been significantly updated since first established.

Austin, T.X. – Today, Saturday, May 29, at 10 AM to 11 AM, U.S. Representative Lloyd Doggett is joining the East Austin Lions Club in continuing their longstanding tradition of honoring our veterans with a Flag Raising Veterans Ceremony and short program. Congressman Doggett will be joining event organizer, Leon Hernandez, at the 900 block of East Cesar Chavez St. and Brushy St. The event will feature a gun salute ceremony by Tejanos In Action, followed by speakers reflecting on those we have lost in the horrors of war and how to recommit to honoring the memory of our fallen fellow citizens.

Austin, T.X. – This evening, U.S. Representative Lloyd Doggett will join the Austin music community to officially open the doors at the Mohawk in the Red River District for the first time since the pandemic shuttered it and other stages. At the Mohawk entrance, Congressman Doggett will join other speakers to mark the grand reopening, recognize the resilience and creativity of our live music industry, and provide updates regarding federal relief, before opening the doors and welcoming folks in for a performance.
