Tour Requests

Due to the coronavirus threat, Capitol Visitors Center (CVC) tours remain suspended, effective since March 12, 2020.

Members of the House or Senate are currently unable to request any White House tours until the Biden/Harris Administration decides upon a schedule. The administration has not provided a timeline for when tours will be open to the public once again. My staff is therefore not able to process tour requests at this time.

Tickets are provided to constituents on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the large number of visitors, the White House asks that you please request tickets at least 21 days from your desired dates, but no more than three months in advance. For information on sightseeing and attractions, please visit the Washington, DC Tourism Information page.

The White House

The White House has re-opened very limited tours with a greatly reduced number of visitors, only available on Fridays and Saturdays from 8am to 11am due to the ongoing risk of COVID-19. Confirmed tour guests will receive a White House Pass that includes detailed health and safety guidance. All guests (ages 2 years and over) are required to wear a face covering and practice social distancing during their visit to the White House complex and are encouraged to utilize the hand sanitizer stations that will be available throughout the tour.

Tours of the White House are very popular and scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis. We generally advise constituents to request tours as soon as possible, but no more than three months in advance. The White House has said that it will not accept tour requests within 21 days of the requested date. In other words, the White House requires at least three weeks advance notice. Please keep in mind that the White House only approves a small percentage of tours. White House tour requests require additional personal information such as name, date of birth, place of birth, and Social Security number. Please be prepared to provide this information for members of your tour party when the White House responds to your initial request. When indicating the number of guests on the request form, please keep in mind that the White House will not allow us to make changes to this number once your request is submitted. The White House tour is self-guided and includes the ceremonial rooms in the center of the White House and the East Wing. All White House tours are free of charge. (Please note that White House tours may be subject to last minute cancellation).

What are these options?
This is to help the constituents that are hard of hearing or use a video phone alert us to that fact so we can use the proper technology when we need to call them. The default option “Voice” is a normal audible telephone.
