Washington, D.C. – This morning, U.S. Representative Lloyd Doggett (D-Austin), Ranking Member of the House Ways and Means Health Subcommittee, announces that he has secured $1 million in federal funding for the Community Mental Health Surveillance Training Program. This initiative builds on federal resources which Rep. Doggett previously obtained to provide customized, evidence-based mental health data analytics training and professional development trainings for local Austin-area nonprofit and health care practitioners, early childhood and K-12 educators, employees of city service agencies, and clinicians.

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Lloyd Doggett (D-Austin) announced that he has secured $850,000 in federal appropriations to go directly to People's Community Clinic in Austin to fuel their transition to a new electronic health record (EHR) system for all patients—helping this longtime provider of top-notch care deliver comprehensive information to equip its providers and patients alike. The clinic is a unique and tested model for medical care, a true safety net for Central Texas’ uninsured and medically underserved.

Washington, D.C. – Today, as the growing City of Kyle works to drought-proof and recycle water resources, U.S. Representative Lloyd Doggett (D-Austin) announced that he has secured $2 million in direct federal appropriations for Kyle to use toward its Reclaimed Water Master Plan.

Washington, D.C. – Today, following a year where Central Texas saw its second hottest summer on record, U.S. Representative Lloyd Doggett (D-Austin) announced that he has secured another $2.48 million in direct federal appropriations for The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment’s Center Climate Change Impact on Water Initiative at Texas State University. This project, for which Rep. Doggett secured the first funding for last year’s launch, is working to study the impact of climate change on all Texas water resources and to create a publicly-available tool to help inform action to preserve water and protect the future of water in our state.
