As a member of Congress representing much of San Marcos, I am working to serve you and enjoy welcoming new Bobcats at convocation. VIA Metropolitan Transit celebrates its VIVA bus line completing 1 million passenger trips.

The colorful VIVA buses and trolleys were celebrated Tuesday at the San Antonio Museum of Art after logging 1 million passenger trips since the June 2016 debut of the three routes connecting some of San Antonio's most-visited sites.

AUSTIN, Texas — As reports surface of migrant children being kept in deplorable conditions, the U.S. House of Representatives is set to vote on a $4.5 billion emergency funding measure to help alleviate those conditions.

"They're sleeping on concrete blocks. There are open toilets in the room. There is no soap," Attorney Warren Binford told ABC News after interviewing children held at a facility in Clint, Texas.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Lloyd Doggett (D-TX), Ranking Member of the House Ways and Means Tax Policy Subcommittee, introduced an amendment to restore critical education deductions – including the Student Loan Interest deduction, Teacher Expenses deduction, and Tuition and Fees deduction – that the Republican tax bill (H.R. 1) would eliminate. Rep. Doggett’s amendment would also simplify and expand the American Opportunity Tax Credit (AOTC).
