Rep. Doggett on TANF: While I Support Extension of This Program, We Must Strengthen Our Safety Net

Today, U.S. Rep. Lloyd Doggett delivered the following speech on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives in support of the extension of the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program. While he expressed his support, he also indicated he was highly concerned about the bill's failure to extend the TANF Supplemental Grant program.
