Washington, D.C. – Last night, the Suspending Energy Imports from Russia Act, introduced by U.S. House Representative Lloyd Doggett (D-TX), Chair of the Ways and Means Health Subcommittee, with U.S. Representative Earl Blumenauer (D-OR), Chair of the House Ways and Means Trade Subcommittee, passed the House of Representatives in a 414 – 17 vote—a resounding show of congressional unity with the Ukrainian people and resolute determination to isolate Russia economically following Putin’s vicious invasion of Ukraine.
