Washington, D.C. – As Central Texas faces a public health crisis of opioid misuse and drug-related overdose deaths, U.S. Representative Lloyd Doggett (D-Austin), senior member of the House Ways and Means Committee, will join Mayor Kirk Watson, Judge Andy Brown, Austin Public Health (APH), and more to announce new federal funding to break ground on an Austin substance use and misuse education and prevention project.

Rep. Doggett will detail the funding he secured in Congress and will join with our public health authorities to detail city, county, and federal collaboration for opioid prevention and harm reduction.
