As Texans Freeze, Abbott Plays His Blame Game

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) releases the following statement regarding Gov. Abbott's mismanagement ahead of the Governor's belated first news conference since the start of this crisis:

"As Texans freeze, Greg Abbott follows a familiar playbook—shirking responsibility, blaming others for his own failures to prepare, to prevent, to respond. Instead of helping the many who are suffering, he joined Trump cheerleader Sean Hannity last night to spew misinformation. Renewable energy did not cause this crisis; fossilized thinking did. Until we address the climate crisis, more and more Texans will be endangered just as so many of us are this week."
