Rep. Doggett on Subpoenas for Trump Tax Returns

Washington, D.C. — Today, Congressman Doggett (D-TX) a senior member of the House Ways and Means Committee, issued the following statement regarding President Trump's tax returns:

"President Trump continues to show contempt for our Constitution. This conflict over access to knowledge is really a conflict over power. If Trump continues to seize more power by preventing Congress, a co-equal branch, from seeking accountability through an explicit statute, we will move dangerously closer toward tyranny."
