Washington, D.C. - On October 8, 2023, U.S. Representative Lloyd Doggett (D-Austin) released the following statement:

"I completed an informative briefing regarding the surprise attack on Israel. We affirm our support for Israel and especially the many families who are suffering from the criminal actions of Hamas. While a forceful military response is necessary, we should be encouraging strategies that minimize the loss of civilian life and maintain peace in the West Bank. In Israel, politics has been put aside in favor of a united response to this outrageous violence. In America, unfortunately, GOP leaders seize every development anywhere to blame President Biden for anything wrong."
