Rep. Doggett on Senate, President Obama Plan for Immigration Reform

Washington-- Today, U.S. Rep. Lloyd Doggett, a senior member of the House Ways and Means Committee issued the following statement on President Obama and the Senate's announcement of a blueprint for comprehensive immigration reform:

"I strongly support prompt action oncomprehensive immigration reform, including a path to citizenship fortaxpaying, law-abiding immigrants and making the DREAM Act a reality. ThePresident and the Senate must lead because too many House Republicans stillcling to their anti-immigrant fervor. We need much more public engagementto overcome intransigence."
