Rep. Doggett Reacts to Biden-Sanders Health Task Force Recommendations

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Lloyd Doggett (D-TX), Ways and Means Health Subcommittee Chairman, released the following statement regarding the Biden-Sanders Health Task Force plan:

"As millions of Americans are added to the uninsured rolls amidst a pandemic exasperated by Trump's delay, denial, and ongoing deception, this represents a vision for better, more affordable, and more comprehensive health care. As Trump seeks to destroy the Affordable Care Act, this is a plan to secure and improve coverage. I look forward to working with a humane President and a new Congress to strengthen and enact this roadmap—particularly improving upon the pharmaceutical provisions. We must ensure that, when they are the angel investors providing the funding for drug development, American taxpayers receive a return on their investment with reasonable prices. We must also include the uninsured among those who receive the benefit of lower, negotiated prices."
