Making a Headline, Not a Difference: Statement on Trump Order on Drug Manufacturing
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Lloyd Doggett (D-TX), Chair of the House Ways and Means Health Subcommittee, reacted to President Trump's executive order on manufacturing today:
"Failing to lower drug prices after almost four years in office, Trump uses legitimate concerns about Big Pharma's overdependence on foreign sources as an excuse to continue weakening environmental, health, and safety law enforcement. A typical Trumpian dictate, bluster but few details and multiple exceptions, resulting in avoidance of any meaningful change—certainly nothing this year. If only tweets and decrees could solve our problems. Trump aims to make a headline, not make a difference."
