KVUE News: Rep. Doggett joins TexPIRG for Trouble in Toy Land Press Conference

AUSTIN,TX –Dangerous ortoxic toys can still be found on America's store shelves, according to the TexasPublic Interest Research Group's (TexPIRG's) 26th annual Troublein Toyland report.

TexPIRG, joined by Congressman Lloyd Doggett (D-TX25) and Tareka Wheeler,program coordinator of Safe Kids Austin, led by Dell Children's Medical Center,released the report at Escuelita del Alma in Austin, TX. The report reveals theresults of laboratory testing on toys for lead and phthalates, both of whichhave been proven to have serious adverse health impacts on the development ofyoung children. The survey also found toys that pose either choking or noisehazards.
