“Halloween is ending, but Republican tricks continue”

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Congressman Lloyd Doggett (D-TX), Ranking Member of the Ways and Means Tax Policy Subcommittee, issued the following statement after multiple news reports that Republican leadership would delay the release of their tax scam legislation:

"Halloween may be wrapping up, but Republican tricks continue with the delay of their tax scam. With a bill so bad, it's understandable that the GOP cannot agree amongst themselves on its final form. Clearly, you cannot sugar-coat this bill; there is nothing sweet about this thousand plus-page monstrosity. By delaying the bill, while not postponing the Monday mark-up, Republicans are once again sabotaging the opportunity for both thorough, independent analysis and fair debate based upon reasoned alternatives."
