Big Win for San Antonio: Statement on Upcoming House Passage of the USMCA
Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Lloyd Doggett (D-San Antonio), senior member of the Ways and Means Committee, released the following statement on this afternoon's upcoming House passage of the USMCA trade agreement. He also urged passage on the floor—video of his speech here.
"A big win for Texas—more commerce, more North American Development Bank financing, reasonable protection for the environment and workers—all of which helps to broaden public support for future trade agreements.
The harmful language inserted by Big Pharma to empower more prescription price gouging has been removed. Enforcement, rather than platitudes about working standards and the environment, represent important changes from the version which Trump originally proposed."
