Washington Post: McCarthy-led House passes Republican rules package (Excerpt)

Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-Tex.) said the Republican measure that would rescind $80 million in funding for the Internal Revenue Service should be renamed the “Protect Donald Trump and His Tax-Cheating Cronies Act.”

Noting that recently released documents show how little Trump “paid toward the cost of our national security,” Doggett accused Republicans of trying to weaken the IRS and stopping the richest in America from paying “the taxes they owe.”
