News4SA: VIA carries 1 million passengers on three routes in three years

SAN ANTONIO — One million, the number of passenger trips taken on VIVA routes in the last three years.

VIA celebrated this accomplishment for the line Tuesday, which debuted in June 2016.

U.S. Representative Lloyd Doggett joined in on the celebration, along with VIA President and CEO Jeffrey C. Arndt.

Arndt explained just why this was such a big accomplishment to celebrate.

"While the rest of the nation is looking at ridership decreases, the VIVA routes are growing each month for the last 18 months," said VIA President Jeffrey C. Arndt.
