KXAN: Rep. Doggett on protecting patients from surprise medical bills

A new state law curbing surprise medical billing went into effect Jan. 1 for Texas patients. But to protect all patients, we need Congress to act too and to act now—to shield patients from crushing, surprise medical bills. I authored the first proposal to do so in the House, in 2015.
