Specifically, the lawmakers ask Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo and Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra to release the “Interagency Guidance Framework for Considering the Exercise of March-In Rights” by the end of the year.

Specifically, the members are calling for Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra to use existing legal authority to issue generic licenses for semaglutide, a prescription drug commonly used to treat obesity and diabetes and is sold under the brand names of Ozempic and Wegovy. Similarly, a coalition of more than 20 organizations has also called on Secretary Becerra to take such action.
