Making up for Trump's Ill-Prepared Administration:
Statement on Today's Emergency Coronavirus Funding Package
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Lloyd Doggett (D-TX), Chairman of the House Ways and Means Health Subcommittee, released the following statement on the emergency coronavirus supplemental appropriations package that the House is set to consider today:
"While we cannot make up for the many failures of this ill-prepared Trump Administration, we are swiftly providing the robust funding that President Trump failed to request. Today's package will better equip communities across America in protecting our families. The measure acknowledges that, with taxpayers footing the coronavirus research bill, the price of any vaccine or treatment must be affordable to all and that competitive licensing offers a path toward this goal."
